The $499 one-time purchase gives you those assets and records to host or bundle with your own product. You control the interface, storage and delivery. The supplied content supports these features; the application code and workout logic remain yours.
Standard includes the male character; the optional female character add-on costs +$99. Motion clips and SQLite belong to Standard; the still-image Starter tier does not include them.

Let users switch characters without changing their workout. Standard plus the female add-on covers the same 643 exercises in both male and female versions: 519 exercise records with motion clips and 124 static holds with stills for each character.
Each character carries the same classic visual style across the library. The female add-on includes matching classic stills, motion clips and a female muscle heatmap. Exercise IDs and the relative paths for those assets match Standard, so your app can change the asset folder while keeping its exercise data, saved workouts and history. Every exercise in the current Standard catalogue has a female counterpart; users can keep the same exercise selection when they switch.

What the headline counts leave out
Vital advertises 1,500+ exercises across gym, home, yoga, Pilates and other categories. Its live Gym Exercises browser currently lists 592 male and 305 female exercises, so the public listing does not show one-to-one male/female coverage across the male collection. In our September 8 review, its sample bundle also combined different figures and scene treatments; the downloaded MP4s we checked had opaque backgrounds. These observations describe that sample, not every paid file.
MoveKit offers a consistent visual style, ready-made MP4 clips, individual purchases and coverage packs. Its current public examples show one anatomical character against an off-white background. RepDB’s distinction is that the same 609 exercise records are available with the male character and the optional female character, while transparent motion WebP lets each app use its own light, dark or branded surface.
The data layer matters too. MoveKit’s current offer is centered on downloadable loopable MP4 clips. Its public product pages also advertise muscle metadata, while its exercise database API is still marked “Coming Soon.” RepDB Standard ships exercise descriptions, instructions and tips in EN/DE/ES/FR, linked alternatives, progressions and regressions, MET values, and AI embeddings. It includes front/back muscle layers that an app can combine into an interactive training heatmap. If you need localization, exercise search or workout analytics, compare these data files alongside the animation clips.
For RepDB, inspect the full exercise list against the movements your app needs. The motion count refers to exercise records; close variants can share a clip. Static holds are represented by stills because they have no repetition cycle.
Check the fit before buying
Use the free premium preview in an actual screen from your app. Check the figure at your display size, the edges against your background, the repetition boundary, and playback on your target devices. The premium sample uses CC BY-NC 4.0 with attribution, including non-commercial evaluation within a commercial organization; commercial production use needs the paid license.
RepDB supplies rendered files, not editable 3D models or rigs. Standard’s motion format is animated WebP; MP4 delivery requires conversion. Its commercial license covers your own products; deployments under a client’s brand require Custom. Read the full license before choosing a tier.
For an app that needs transparent motion, matching stills and multilingual exercise data, RepDB Standard is the package I recommend evaluating first. The optional female character extends the same exercise coverage without changing workout records. MoveKit’s single MP4 clips and coverage packs suit teams choosing exercise by exercise. Compare the actual movements, character needs and app backgrounds before committing.

These observations explain the visual criteria used in the original review. Downloaded samples, web previews and subjective style assessments have different evidential weight; none establishes the state of a complete current paid library.
Vital free pack
The inspected files showed different visual treatments across collections: 0473.mp4 (Home Workout) used a clothed female figure; 0976.mp4 (Women Workout) showed an anatomical figure in a brick-wall room; 1177.mp4 (Pilates) used another figure and setting; 0051.mp4 and 0098.mp4 (Gym) used a faceless mannequin on a plain background. Those downloaded MP4s had opaque backgrounds. When combining collections, evaluate several sample exercises together in your own layout.
GymVisual public preview
The reviewed Weighted Crunch, Basic Grey preview shows an anatomical illustration treatment with dark muscle outlines on a white background. My preference for RepDB’s softer classic style is an art-direction choice. The original file’s transparency and motion quality were not tested.
